Before You Start

Slice the ginger thin so it releases fast, juice the lemon, and set a mug and small strainer within reach.

How To Make It
  1. Bring the water and sliced ginger to a gentle boil in a small pot, 3 to 4 minutes, until it steams and small bubbles break the surface.
  2. Lower the heat and let it steep, about 5 minutes, until the water turns pale gold and smells sharp with ginger.
  3. Strain the tea into a mug.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and honey and sip it warm.
Fix It: If it tastes too sharp, add a little more honey and hot water to soften the bite.
Microwave
  1. Add the ingredients you would cook together to a microwave safe bowl along with their liquid.
  2. Cover loosely and microwave in one minute bursts, stirring between each, until hot through.
  3. Let it stand for a minute, then finish and plate the dish as written in the steps above.
